6 February 2000
Following months of speculation, we can confirm that Hammer Film Productions Limited is under new management. This is Hammer's most important corporate development in 20 years, and promises a new era for the company as it enters the 21st. century.
The changes will involve a re-location of offices from Elstree Studios to central London. Hammer's long-standing chairman Roy Skeggs, whose involvement dates back to 1963, has stood down to allow a new team to relaunch the company.
There follows the first press release from the new management, officially issued on Monday 7 February 2000. The website team is very excited by this new development and will keep you updated with breaking news. We would like to stress, however, that neither we nor Hammer Film Productions Limited can answer any e-mail queries about the company acquisition at this time. Keep checking back for further news and updates.
