I am looking forward to seeing The 2012 Hammer production of the Woman in Black. However, I am also wondering if this new version of the Susan Hill story is as good as the TV version released in 1989 and directed by Herbert Wise. I quite enjoyed the latter and thought it was one of the best ghost film I had ever seen (along with The Haunting and the Innocents). I suppose I shall soon find out.
My all-time favourite British Occult/horror film. Christopher Lee is at his best in this film. Charles Gray, whom I am found of, acts superbly as well. To me this film is the ultimate British film taking place in the country side of England during the 20's and 30's. The atmosphere one comes to expect in such film is all there in this Hammer production.
I recently heard rumors that Hammer is planning to release this film (and other Hammer films) in Blu-ray. Is this true? Can someone tell me more about it? Thank you...
